Realme 8i design and specifications revealed: MediaTek Helio G96, 50MP camera, and more

Realme 8i and Realme 8s smartphones have been teased to launch in India by CEO Madhav Sheth recently in a YouTube Q&A session. 91mobiles had exclusively leaked the Realme 8s specifications and design late last month. Now, it's Realme 8i's turn as its renders and specifications have been leaked online, courtesy of Digit in association with noted tipster @OnLeaks. The Realme 8i seems to be a cheaper version of the Realme 8 as it comes with triple cameras, a punch-hole cutout, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Here's a look at the Realme 8i design and specifications.
Realme 8i has a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels. The phone has triple cameras placed in a square module alongside an LED flash. It has a volume rocker and SIM tray section on the left spine, while the fingerprint sensor is on the right side embedded in the power button. The USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and speaker grille are present on the bottom. The phone can be seen in Brown colour, but there could be other options at launch. The phone has curved edges for better grip.

Realme 8i is said to sport a 6.59-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, and slim bezels. The phone could have a plastic body, since it's a budget phone and measures 8.6mm in thickness, and weigh 194 grams. The Realme 8i will be the first phone powered by the MediaTek Helio G96, which has two Cortex-A76 cores clocked up to 2.05GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It packs 4GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The Realme 8i is said to have a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP portrait camera, and a 2MP macro camera. There is a 16MP snapper for selfies and video chats and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. A 5,000mAh battery will fuel the phone. While the exact charging speed hasn't been revealed, it may come with at least 30W charging
